Microsoft Edge

You can customise Google Chrome to open any page for the homepage or start-up page. These two pages aren’t the same unless you set them to be. Your start-up page is the one that is displayed when you first launch Chrome on your device. Your homepage is the one you that you go to when you click Home. Step 1: In the upper right corner, select More Actions.Click Settings. Step 2: Scroll down to “Open With”. Select A specific page or pages. Step 3: Open the dropdown menu and choose Custom. In the section labeled “Show Home button,” you can set the homepage to either an empty Tab or a website URL that you designate. If the Home button is missing from the Chrome toolbar, activate it by going to Settings → Appearance → and selecting the “Show Home.

1. Open Microsoft Edge, select Settings and more > Settings .

2. Select Appearance.

3. Turn on Show home button.

4. You can either choose New tab page or select Enter URL for a page that you want to use as your home page.

Internet Explorer 11

1. In the top corner of Internet Explorer, select Tools , and then select Internet options.

2. On the General tab, under Home page, enter the URL of the site you want to set as a homepage. You can add more than one URL. Or, to add the site you're currently viewing, select Use current. If you add more than one URL, put each URL on its own line.

3. Select Apply, and then select OK.

Google Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome, then select the three, vertical dots next to the profile icon.

2. Select Settings, then under Appearance, turn the toggle for Show home button to on.

3. Choose the option you'd like to use: New Tab page or Enter custom web address.

Firefox

1. Open Firefox, then select the three, horizontal lines next to the profile icon.

2. Select Options, then select the Home icon.

3. Under New Windows and Tabs, select the dropdown next to Homepage and new windows.

4. Choose the option you prefer: Firefox Home (Default), Custom URLs, or Blank Page.

Safari

1. Open Safari, then choose Safari > Preferences, then select General.

2. In the Homepage field, enter a wepage address. To simply use the webpage you're currently viewing, select Set to Current Page.

3. Choose when your homepage is shown.

   • Open new windows with your homepage: Select the New windows open with pop-up menu, then choose Homepage.

   • Open new tabs with your homepage: Select the New tabs open with pop-up menu, then choose Homepage.

By default, the first page you see when you open Chrome is the Google search box. The homepage is the page that opens when you click on the Home icon on Chrome. However, you can change this to any website you want. You can also change your new tab page, so you see a certain website when you open a new tab. Here’s how to change the homepage and new tab page in Google Chrome.

How to Change Your Homepage in Chrome

To change your homepage in Chrome, click on thethree-dot icon in the top-right corner of a browser window. Then go to Settings> Appearance then enable the Show Home button option. Type yourdesired URL the text box that appears, then test if the new home page works.

1. Open the Chrome browser.
2. Click the three-dot icon in the top-right corner of your browser window.
3. Then click Settings.
4. Scroll down to Appearance.
5. Turn on the toggle for Show Home button. Two radio buttons will appear below.
6. Type the URL of your desired homepage. By default, this is set to http://www.google.com.

You can also change your homepage to be the startup page in Chrome. This will be the page that you see every time you open Chrome. To change your startup page, scroll down to the bottom of the settings page to the On startup section. Then click the radio button next to Open a specific page or set of pages.

Next, click Add a new page, enter a site URL, and click Add.

Note: You can add more than one page by repeating steps six to eight. When you open a new Chrome window, all the pages you added will load in different tabs.

After you change your homepage in Chrome, you can also change the new tab page, which is the page that you see when you open a new tab. However, you can’t set up a custom URL on a new tab from Chrome’s settings.

To change the new tab page in Chrome, you have to download an extension. You can find and install one from the Chrome Web Store. Once installed, make sure to Enable it and add your preferred URL.

1. Open Google Chrome.
2. Go to the Custom New Tab URL page on the Chrome Web Store.
3. Then click Add to Chrome.
4. Next, click Add Extension. Once installed, you will see a prompt pointing you to the top right of your browser where the extension icon is located. It appears as a webpage tab with a gray asterisk inside.
5. Click on the new icon and select Options.You will see this appear to the right of your address bar.
6. Check the box for Enabled.
7. Then type in a URL. Make sure to include http:// or https:// before the address.
8. Finally, click Save to change your homepage in Chrome.
